Nagpur: Primary students of Saraswati Vidyalaya brought laurels to the school by winning medals in Science Olympiad conducted by SOF.

Chinmay Avare and Shardul Yelekar won gold medals, Nidhi Vera and Aishwarya Daulatkar won silver medals while Riya Dhomne, Soham Raut won bronze medals. Chinmay Avare got selected for the second level. Renukadevi and Parul Patle also were selected for the second level.

The Management, Headmistress Resmi Umesh, and staff congratulated the students and in-charge teacher B Anuradha on their achievement.

Gyandeep Roy and Aadinath Potey of Std I, Anupam Kundu and Sanskar Verma of Std II and Ayushi Mendhe of Std IV bagged the Medals of excellence and merit certificates.

Bhuvi Mann, Charu Tiwari, Vedansh Agrawal of Std I, Sanidhya Borkar, Aman Singh, Avdhoot Dongre, Sujal Nikhade of Std II. Naman Dharmani, Arjavi Rohane and Mohit Nanwatkar of Std III. Ameya Padmawar, SatyamVerma, Aanya Gandhi of Std IV.

Jay Tiwari, Omar Javed Sheikh, Ashmit Keswani of Std V were the school toppers and awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals respectively. Dr Sandeep Salodkar, Vice-Chancellor, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam University, Indore, was the chief guest. Dr Narendra Chaudhari, Director, VNIT; Gp Capt Siddhartha Mondal, General Manager, Brahmos Aerospace, Nagpur and Dr Vijay Waghmare, Director (Acting) and Head, Division of Crop Improvement, were the guests of honour.

Dr Mohan Gaikwad-Patil, Chairman, GPG; Prof Sandeep Gaikwad, Treasurer, GPGI; Anil Hood, Executive Director, GPGI, and Dr G K Awari, Convenor and Principal were a source of inspiration.

Nagpur: Aegis is the flagship event of Entrepreneurship Cell of DAIMSR (E-Leap), which has been established by a group of entrepreneurial students of the Institute. It aims to bring together Budding Entrepreneurs, Academicians, Venture capitalists, Investors, Industrialists, Researches and the students on a common platform and share their endeavors and experiences.

Aegis 2018 is divided into two sessions; the first session on Intrapreneurship aims “To provide insights of how Innovation and Entrepreneurship can be deployed by employees serving organizations in various capacities.” The focus will be on understanding, how employees of firms can demonstrate and use innovation at the workplace & how the concept of “Intrapreneurship” is shaping the modern Business organizations. Whereas the second session – workshop on “Business Ideas“,aims at converting business ideas into reality is planned in post-lunch session.

Eminent personalities from different sectors are invited as speaker for the session. Nagpur: Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi College of Engineering organized one day Blood Donation Camp during its annual gathering PACE 2k18 in collaboration with Jeevan Jyoti Blood Bank recently. The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. R. M. Dhoble, Principal of College, Dr. B. C. Burande, PACE 2k18 Incharge, Prof. V. Kesalkar- Dean Academics and Prof. U. B. Malkhandale, Prof. S. Jawale, Prof. A. Gawarle, Dr. D. V. Hardas-HOD’s of various departments along with other faculty members.

The event was coordinated by Dr. V. V. Soman. Faculties of college took the lead by donating blood which motivated the students to come in flocks to donate their precious blood to save the lives of the needy. About 90 students along with volunteers of the event donated their blood during the camp. At the conclusion of the camp Principal, Dr. R. M. Dhoble appreciated the donors for donating the blood & congratulated the organizers for successfully organizing the camp. At the end vote of thanks was extended by Prof. Munibh Ahmed, member blood donation camp.

Nagpur: 19th February was the 391st birth anniversary of the greatest Maratha ruler ever-known — Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja. Shivaji Maharaja had established a royal name for himself in history with his administrative skills by upholding the Swarajya values and the Maratha heritage. He was known for his bravery and tactics with which he won numerous wars against the Mughals.

The Vidarbha Institute Of Technology (VIT), had showed their gratitude towards him on the birth anniversary great Maratha leader. On this occasion, Dr.Sanjay.S.Uttarwar had delivered speech on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, his great administrative skills, his innovative military tactics and had also explained how we can follow his principles to build a peaceful society.

The prestigious Inaugural of ‘Pratishruti 2018’ took place at the college premises in presence of the chief guest Mukul Chakravorty, General Manager, DYNAPAC Road Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd.

The event was presided over by ChandrakantbhaiThakar,Vice-Chairman; Kailashchandra Agrawal, Secretary; Rajendra Purohit, Secretary; Bhagwandas Daga, Member of Trust. Also other members on the dais included Dr R S Pande, Principal; Dr Y M Sonkhaskar, Dean SRC; Prof H D Bhave, Prof In-charge, Pratishruti’18; Prof P B Shiwalkar, Prof In-charge, Technical Club; Mahaveer Jain, General Secretary, SRC; Gagan Chordiya and Bhagyashree Sahu, Joint Cultural Secretaries of SRC.

The ceremony began with lighting of the lamp. DrY M Sonkhaskar, in his opening remarks, gave the brief description about Pratishruti. The event was followed by felicitation of chief guest at the hands of Chandrakantbhai Thakar.

The chief guest gave the ‘ABCDEFG’ mantra for success. Principal Dr R S Pande presented the gathering with annual report and various achievements of college. Mahaveer Jain presented the Pratishruti report. The ceremony was compered by Aman Paul and Sahiti Jonnalagadda while Prof P B Shiwalkar proposed a vote of thanks.

Nagpur: Horizon-2018, Students’ convention was organised by BE First Year Department, Priyadarshini College of Engineering recently. Around 500 students participated from different Engineering colleges in different events such as ‘Mathematica’ – aptitude test by the Department of Applied Mathematics, ‘Eloquence’ – a debate competition by Department of Humanities, ‘Rasayan’ – a poster competition and Sci-Tricks by the Department of Applied Chemistry, ‘Resonance’ – poster and model making competition by Department of Applied Physics, ‘Momentum’ – a poster and quiz competition by the first year Department of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical.

The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Neeraj Khaty, Director, Board of Examination and Evaluation, RTMNU and guest of honour was Dr Yogesh Deshpande, Head, Department of Humanities, VNIT. Dr Manisha Joshi delivered welcome speech and instructed students about competition.

Principal Dr M P Singh emphasised over the importance of participation in such events. VicePrincipal Dr S A Dhale threw light over the scope for technical education in India. The programme was anchored by Dr Priyanka Warnekar. Dr Seema Rawat proposed a vote of thanks.

The students read out the citations describing the student’s aspirations, strengths and hidden talents. Skits and dances were the main attractions.

Nagpur: The Vidarbha Institute Of Technology (VIT) celebrated “Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din” in college on 27 Feb. On this occasion, Dr Sanjay S Uttarwar delivered speech on the exceptional values and moral of the Literature written by Kusumagraj.

Marathi Language Day is celebrated on birthday of eminent Marathi Poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar. Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, alias Kusumagraj, was a noted Marathi poet and was born on February 27, 1912, at Pune in Maharashtra. Kusumagraj was not just a poet, but also a renowned playwright, novelist, and a story-writer. After his demise in 1999, Maharashtra government started celebrating Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar’s birth anniversary as ‘Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din’.

Marathi is the official spoken language in Maharashtra. It is also the fourth most spoken language, after Hindi, Bengali, and Telugu, in India. It ranks 19 in the list of most spoken languages in the world.

VIT Chairman Jitesh N Maheshwari said, “We have dedicated this day for the great Jnanpeeth award winning Marathi poet in the state to honour the rich history and literature associated with him.” Secretary, VIT Dr Pooja Maheshwari along with Director, VIT Dr G S Natrajan and Dr Sanjay S Uttarwar paid rich tributes to him.

Vice-Principal Prof Nilesh Bodne and Dr Sweta Deoskar also expressed their views. The programme was organised by the NSS Cell including Prof Kasim Ali, Prof Khusal Gawande and Vaishali Agrey.

Nagpur: Under the leadership of Adv. Abhijit G. Wanjari, Secretary, Amar Sewa Mandal, National Service Scheme (NSS) cell, Govindrao Wanjari College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur organised “NSS Annual Camp-2018” at Z P Primary School, Chikna Village, Nagpur from Feb 6 to 10. The programme was organised under the guidance Dr Hemant Sonare, Director, Wanjari Group of Institutions, Nagpur.

During this camp various activities were organised, such as Swachhata Abhiyan at Chikna village and Salai-Godhani village, students’ street play, lecture series of eminent speakers of societies. The ‘Blood donation camp’ was also organised in association with Life Line Blood Bank, Nagpur.

Pravin Sathawane, Camp Manager, LLBB and his team worked hard for the success of this camp. In this blood donation camp about 78 persons donated their blood.


In the same event ‘Free Eye Check-up Camp’ was also organised in association with Contacare Eye Hospital, Dhantoli, Nagpur. Around 154 people visited this camp for the regular check up of their eyes. The ‘Free Health and ECG Check up Camp’ was an addition to this NSS camp which was organised in association with Care Hospital, Nagpur. In this camp about 180 people got their health check up done and about 35 persons got their Cardiographs. In this health camp Dr Manvendra Singh, Cardiac Surgeon, Care Hospital, Nagpur was prominently present for the ECG check up and Dr Nazma Qureshi, Dr Komal Shivlani, General Physician, Care Hospital, were present for Blood Sugar, BP, HB check up on 7 Feb.


Villagers appreciated the efforts and actively participated in all the activities of the camp. The guest lectures by prominent speakers on various topics for the NSS volunteers was also conducted during this camp.

Dr C L Khobaragade, NSS Programme Officer and team members who included S R Alone, D P Dongre, G R Agrawal and R M Dahekar worked for the success of this camp.

Tip Top Convent holds “Science Expo” on National Science Day
Nagpur: The Tip Top Convent recently celebrated National Science Day on Feb 28, 2018 in an unique way by organizing J D Bose Science Exhibition for its students and parents.

Kids of Tip Top became scientists and showcased their science projects ranging from Rain water harvesting, Smart City on Solar power, Volcano blasts, how 3 seasons are important for us to don’t use plastic bottle water etc.

Almost 60 students presented over 50 projects during exhibition.

Earlier, the J D Bose Science Expo was inaugurated by Sreenabh Agrawal (Junior Scientist of City) and Sachin Dravekar, Senior Journalist & Head (Public Relation & Communications) at OCW.

In his address Shrrenabh narrated importance of Science in students life while Sachin Dravekar urged students , parents and teachers about importance of saving Water and gave tips about judicious use of potable (drinking) water

JD Bose Science Expo for kids was a brainchild of Director of Tip Top Convent Preeti Siras & Priyadarshan Siras, who encouraged staff, parents & kids to participate with innovative science projects in exhibition.

School Principal Ketki Siras, Devyani Pande and staff of Tip Top Convent took special efforts for the success of the programme.

Nagpur: G H Raisoni Polytechnic, Nagpur had organised MSBTE sponsored State-level project competition for the final year students on 3rd March. The purpose of this competition was to identify the upcoming innovators in the field of Engineering and Technology and to make them available the platform to showcase their innovative ideas.

Sachin Jain, Additional Secretary MIDC Industries Association, inaugurated the competition while Pramod Nichat, AGM, Ashok Leyland Ltd. Bhandara presided over the programme. Other dignitaries present for the programme were, Dr S J Patil, Dy Secretary MSBTE, RO Nagpur, P G Sayagavi, Assistant Secretary, MSBTE, Mumbai, A J Fulzele, Assistant Secretary, MSBTE, RO Nagpur P K Sonkamble, OSD, MSBTE, Nagpur.

Pravin Chhaya, Sr DGM,R & D L & T, Mumbai, Dr Bhalchandra Deshmukh, G M and Head off Highway Application Engineering, Kirloskar Oil Engine Ltd.Pune, Prof R N Awale, VJTI, Mumbai, Dr A R Kambekar, Associate Prof ,SPCE, Mumbai, enhanced the graced the event by performing their role as jury members of project competition. V V Kale, Acting Principal GHRP, M M Deshmukh, Vice-Principal, GHRP along with all the Head of the Department, faculty members, participants, guides and students were also present for the inaugural ceremony.


G N Akhade in his welcome speech informed about the overall programme of the project competition and its importance. Pramod Nichat gave detailed information about modern technology in future, patent system, and importance of Polytechnic Diploma in students career.

Dr Ramesh Lakhe, Secretary, Shreyas Quality Management System Nagpur, was chief guest for the concluding programme. Dr S J Patil, Dy Secretary, MSBTE,RO Nagpur, was Guest of honour. P G Sayagavi, Assistant Secretary, MSBTE, Mumbai graced the occasion. Other dignitaries present for the programme were Dr Vivek Kapur, Director, Shradha Park Campus, RGI and Dr Manoj Diagavane, Principal, GHRIET, Nagpur.


The First Prize was won by “Smart Handicap Trike” of G H Raisoni polytechnic, Nagpur, which consisted of a Trophy and Rs 75000/- cash and Second Prize was won by “Development of Advance Room Cooler” oF NIT Polytechnic Nagpur, Trophy and Rs 41000/- cash. Total 58 projects from all over Maharashtra participated in this competition. Every year 10 projects get patent through this competition.

Om Wankhede and Arun Wankhede, Mechanical Engg Deptt along with their Committee members took efforts under the guidance of G N Akhade, Principal, G H Raisoni Polytechnic, Nagpur to make the event a grand success.
