Nagpur: The most crucial and optimal stage of career of an engineering student is the final year i.e. the year before graduating. Final year students graduating from the college are heading towards a new era in life.

The fun days at the college are going to be over soon. When seeking admission in an engineering college, students and their parent certainly concerned about the placement records and try to get an idea about the placement process at that particular college.

Vidarbha Institute Of Technology (VIT), is one such college that lays enough stress on placing the students at the right jobs through best companies. Each year when campus placement time comes around, all students of VIT becomes well prepared for the challenge that is before them.

They are keen to illustrate the skills acquired both in the lectures halls and other interpersonal skills perfected along the way from curriculum. Around twenty six students of Computer Science & Engineering have participated where six of them have been selected by company to work as Trainee in Yalamanchili Software Exports.

Nagpur: Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has organised IEEE sponsored one week [06 days] Short Term Training Program on “Research Issues and Challenges for Implementation of 5G in India” at PIET, Nagpur which was inaugurated by the hands of Dr. Sanjay Pawar Principal UMIT, SNDT Womens University, Mumbai, who is also Executive Committee Member and Treasurer of IEEE Bombay section and Chairperson, as well as Member of IEEE Communication Society IEEE Bombay Section, delivered the key note address and Dr. S.N. Rao, Dean Academics, PIET delivered the welcome address.

STTP was graced by eminent guest speaker from VNIT and RCOEM, Nagpur who delivered their expert lecture to around 40 participants from in and around Nagpur.

STTP achieved great sucess under the able guidance of Dr. V.M. Nanoti, Principal & Chair STTP, Dr. G.M. Asutkar, Vice-Principal & Co-chair STTP and Dr. Soni Chaturvedi, Convener STTP and coordinated by Seema.S.Wasnik, S.I. Parihar and G.P. Halde.

All the staff members of E&C Engg. Dept worked hard for successful conduction of this STTP.

Nagpur: Department of Information Technology has organized one week Short Term Training Program on “Node.js Framework” during 9th to 14th December 2017 under the able guidance of Dr. Vivek Nanoti , Principal PIET.

“Necessity is the mother of invention” said Swapnil Mohata, Managing Director, Arihant Minerals during the valedictory program. Dr. G. M. Asutkar , Vice Principal PIET, motivated the participants on the occasion.

Dr. Pallavi M. Chaudhari, HOD, IT Department, congratulated all the participants for successful completion STTP. The participants from all over Maharashtra registered for this STTP program. During these six days, IT Industry Experts, Snehal Manglekar and Kratika Rajput conducted theory and practical sessions on Node.js Framework.


Prof. Archana V. Potnurwar and Prof. Avinash P. Ingle, coordinators of this STTP worked hard for the successful conduction. Prof. B. A. Raut conducted the proceeding.

All the Deans, HODs and Faculty members were prominently present for the program. This STTP was sponsored by Soft touch wall putty.

Nagpur: A short term training programme on ‘Energy Management and Energy Audit organised by MEDA with the help of Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), Nagpur was inaugurated on Dec 4. The evenetv was held from 4 Dec to 10.

MEDA gave financial support against proposal submitted By Dr Rohit Khedkar.

Present on the stage were Dr Vivek M. Nanoti, Dr G M Asutkar Dr Samir Deshmukh and Dr Rohit Khedkar.


Dr Khedkar gave abrief idea about training programme. Dr Deshmukh guided the department and training programme. Dr Nanoti and Dr Asutkar guided training programme team. On this occasion Dr Vivek Nanoti was feliocitated for his selection as Senate Member in RTMNU.

During Training Program. Twelve Sessions were held related To Energy Management and Energy Conservation, 12 Expert From academic, industry and energy auditors were called for successful Conducting the training programme.

Organiser Dr Rohit Khedkar, Dr Samir Deshmukh, Amol Bhusari and all Chemical Engineering Faculty members thanked MEDA and Sharang Mahajan for their cooperation and help.

Total 50 participants registered for event from industry, academic and students.

Somalwar teacher Rekha Sardar enters India Book of Records
Nagpur: A teacher of city’s Somalwar School, Ramdaspeth, entered her name in India Book of Records by achieving a unique feat. Rekha Suresh Sardar accomplished the unique feat by singing 153 songs with reverse words. The included in various languages such as Marathi, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Bengali, Kannad, Assami and Gujarati from a given list of 1500 songs extempore.

Rekha Sardar was awarded a certificate and memento by adjudicators of India Book of Records in a function organised at ‘Utkarsh Hall’ of Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, near Jhansi Rani Square, Sitabuldi on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Rekha sung all the songs in proper rhythm as per the original songs. The adjudicators of India Book of Records were Dr Sunita Dhote, Professor at RCOEM, Nagpur and Dr Manoj.

The chief guests at the function were Corporator Ujwala Bankar, Ramesh Satpute of Killa Vaibhav and Pratibha Kathale, Headmistress of Somalwar School, Ramdaspeth.

Rekha Sardar, commenting on her unique feat of Singing with Reverse Words, credited her two sons for their lion’s share in achieving the feat and entering her name in India Book of Records. She also mentioned father’s blessings, valuable cooperation by host of relatives and friends.

Nagpur: The 10th C -1990 Batch of Somalwar High School, Khamala recently celebrated its ReUnion at Jog House as well as in Somalwar High School, Khamala on December 30, 2017 recently.

All batch mates who have now crossed 40’s now from Nagpur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Delhi, Mumbai, UK & USA attended the Reunion and attended the school after exactly 27-years.

The then Principal of Somalwar High School, Khamla Pendharkar Sir, Class Teachers Malti Biniwale Madam, Suvarna Dais Madam and Atrey Madam were prominently present on the occasion.

Programmes like School Prayers, National Anthem, School Present, games, introduction of students with each other that too after a gap of 27 years held during entire day long programmer.

Batch mates Vises Vyavhare, Rahul Sawarkar, Jayant Athalye, Anju Rege, Aparna Ballal narrated experiences about school and presented good poems too.

All batch mates were given special Nagpur gifts of 1990’s like boiled berries, borkut, Rajmalai Chocklates, Fingers, etc.


Earlier rich tributes were paid to Martyr Major Praful Moharkar (School student of 2000 batch), Late Deepak & Late Ravi 1990- batchmates and Teachers who passed away in last few years.

Entire programme was conducted by Sachin Dravekar, while Sonal Moharil, Shilpa Naik, Suchitra Lote, Swati Bhusari, Vivek Joshi, Nitin Bhishikar, Arvind Bijwe, Girish Tekade, Abhijeet Chitriv, Rupali Pathak, Aparna Wartak, Sonali Dhote and all members worked hard for success of programme.

Nagpur: As the proverb goes, Edify School Nagpur celebrated this 7th Winter Carnival with Zeal and Enthusiasm. Edify School Nagpur celebrated its 7th Carnival in the August Presence of R. Bharath Additional Commissioner Income tax along with his Charming wife who did the formal inauguration of the event along with the valued guest and parents.

Santa Claus greeted the Guests and the parents with the carols and also with the gifts. There were cartoon characters, Chota Bheem and Chutki who made the younger ones laugh and played funny games with them to bring in the much needed smiles on them. The carnival began with a welcome dance prepared by the students of Grade 6th, which enthralled the parents and guests at large.

There were an array of dances and songs prepared by the students of the school, which was very well appreciated by the parents and guests. The first time in the history of the school, the parents showcased their dancing skills and vocal skills at the stage. The parents appreciated the effort taken by the school to invite them to perform on such an auspicious occasion. The icing on the cake was a solo performance by an grandmother of 74 years of age, who danced on the song of Ghoomar, which was very well appreciated by the audience. This all came into being because of the bond which the school hold with its valued parents.

The comparers Miss Bhawna Sahni, Simi Adtani and Vicky Anand along with Shripad Murhekar made the environment lighter by the small fillers in between the dances and also with the humorous one liners which made the parents and guest laugh to the core.

The Carnival comprised of 38 stalls showcased by the very own students of Edify School Nagpur, which had many food and games stalls, Every stall was decorated by the students to the best of their abilities, they were adorn with Christmas lights and Santa socks, The students who were responsible for the stalls, looked into the decoration, the designing of the menu and also on the cleanliness of the arena, All of them made the parents appreciate their efforts and hard work. There was a separate team of 5 students who were wearing aprons of SWACHH NAGPUR AND SWASTH NAGPUR, which spoke large about the vison the school has for its children.


The visitors went bonkers eating the delicacies made by the students along with the help of their parents, as the carnival had a lot of delicacies to offer viz:- Puran poli, chole puri, pani puri, papdi chat, pasta, chat cone, juices, popcorn, sugar candy ,till guud, soup, pizza and many more, also there were lot of exciting games stalls which included, shooting ps4 , finding the coins, etc. It was an evening which made the parents run down their childhood, as we saw parents enjoying more than the kids, as they relived their childhood.

The Chief guest R. Bharat along with his wife and other dignitaries did the unveiling the Annual Calendar and the newsletter, The new year’s advertisement video was released by the managing directors of the school Inderpreet Singh and Mandeep Kaur Tuli which was swell appreciated by the parents. The video was conceptualised by thee in house team which was led by Edwin Daniel. The chief guest showered praises for the school for taking such a lot of efforts for the parents and students for putting up a Gala event.

The chief guest and his wife during the rounds visited the stall of humanity which was an endeavour of the school with a humane touch, an arena where students had made small handmade stuff like pen holders, napkin holders, envelopes and the artistic paintings and wall hangings, which attracted their attention, the sale proceeds of which had to go for the benefit of the needy at the home for aged. The guests themselves purchase scenery and contributed for the cause initiated by the school.

The carnival made the school students lucky with Master Nashid Hamza of Grade 7th getting the 1st prize of Panasonic 32’’ LED TV and students nd parents being gifted with Note Pad, Smart Watch, Cannon Printer and many exciting gifts in the lucky draw.


The winter Carnival at Edify School Nagpur was covered by the press and media, because such type of social initiative has been seen very rare with schools of today’s generation.

The principal of the school Dr Plex John along with headmistress Smita Dev thanked all the teachers and support staff for their wholehearted efforts to make this winter carnival a great success.

The winter carnival was attended by more than 2200 parents and guests along with the students of last few years passed batches. The Winter Carnival was conceptualised and planned by the hardworking team of facilitators of Edify School Nagpur.

Dipti Gharat inaugurates India's first chapter of SFPE at NFSC
Nagpur: Dipti Gharat, Representative of the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) inaugurated the first Student Chapter of the Society for Fire Prevention Engineering (SFPE) recently at the National Fire Service College, Nagpur.

Daksh Chandok was inducted as the President of the Chapter and Shubham Raj the Secretary.

Prominently present on the occasion were Director Dr Shamim, Dr Natarajan, R K. Vidhate, Vivek Sharma and other Staff Members. A large number of student members who have been enrolled in the Chapter were also present and took part in the function.

Juhi Rajak and Akansh Shrivastav presented a power point presentation on Fire Forensics while Anurodh Jha and Anshu Ray gave brief highlight on Oil and Gas Industry.

V Jagdish, an Alumni of the College and presently as UL Head in Mumbai contributed to the opening of the Chapter and is the Chapter Advisor. The meeting Anurodh Jha proposed a vote of thanks.

CBSE Class X, XII examinations from March 5

CBSE StudentsNew Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct its annual examinations of Classes X and XII from March 5.

The CBSE class X examinations, in which 16,38,552 students are expected to appear, would end on April 4.

Class XII annual examinations, for which 11,86,144 students are expected to appear, would go on till April 12.

While the first exam in class X is of the subject Information and Communication Technology, class XII students will be appearing for the English paper.

As per the CBSE guidelines, the CBSE affiliated schools will be conducting the practical exams from mid-January and complete it by January 31.

This will be the first batch to appear for Class X board examination after the board decided to junk the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and reintroduce the board exams.

Cyber Safe Nagpur campaign organized at PIET

Nagpur: ‘Cyber Safe Nagpur’ campaign was organized at PIET by IT Department in association with Nagpur City Police to develop cyber awareness and to keep college students well informed about pros and cons of the internet, cyber safety, and cyber laws.

“The young generation needs to be more careful while using smart phones” said Dr. Vivek Nanoti, Principal,PIET in his address to the students.

Dr. Pallavi M. Chaudhari, Head IT Department, expressed her views on an objective of the campaign with a tag line of “Be Smart and Be Safe”.

PSI Balram Zadokar along with Mahendra Selukar explained different cyber crime cases.

Mahesh Rakheja, Cyber Expert, delivered insightful lecture on cyber security with live demonstrations. Monali Lonkar coordinated the program on behalf of Nagpur City Police.


Prof. Avinash Ingle conducted the proceedings.

Around 1000 students of PIET attended this awareness drive.

Dr Sao, Asst Prof, Training & Placement Officer (TPO), EDC ( In-charge), Priyadarshini J L College of Engineering,Nandanvan, submitted his thesis to Department of Business Management, RTMNU, on April 17, 2015. He worked on his thesis under the able guidance of Dr Shiney V Chib, Director, Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies, Pratap Nagar, Nagpur.

Nagpur: Sometimes unexpected things do happen. One would be amazed to see Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Secondary school and Junior College situated in Utkhana. The is school and Junior college is any time on par with any English medium school The school building is quite big and in a good condition. The atmosphere in this school is like that of a English Medium school.This school has class from 5th to 12th. Till 10th standard it has Marathi medium and the11th and 12th standard there is science. th class consist of 95 students in these two classes and total 112 students over all in school. There are 13 permanent teachers, one peon and a sweeper. The school has 16 rooms and facilities of modern schools. There is a computer lab where 10 computers are installed. For digital studies NMC has given a projector. If NMC has all these things in its other schools then certainly students number would increase.

Good facilities for students
Anyone would be shocked to see water cooler, filter and clean toilets in NMC school but it is true all these are here in this school. In the projector room the syllabi of 5th to 10th standard are in built. The teachers sometimes teach the students with the help of projector. A drawing room is on top floor where the students make drawings. During Diwali these students had displayed their craft work. The school has even thought of the security of children and installed CCTV cameras in school. For the 34 students in classes there is school van to pick and drop the children. The teachers pay for the van. In 2015 the school and Junior College received the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification. The junior college has faculties as per subjects.


25 differently abled students studying in school
There are 25 differently abled children in this school and one teacher comes thrice a week for the slow learners while other study with common children. The students are given food by Akshay Patra Foundation.

The Principal of this school and Junior college Arvind Awari has gone on leave and the art teacher while giving information about the school said, the teachers efforts are that the students get best education and they study well. Efforts are being made by the teachers to increase the number of students. The teacher informed that the students from Besa, Ramteke Nagar, Shatabdi Nagar, Toli etc come to study.The teachers pay for their transportation.


NMC can improve the condition of schools
NMC can improve the condition and standard of all its school and Junior colleges like the Utkhana’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Secondary school and Junior College by providing the facilities like this school. This will attract the students as well as their guardians.

Nagpur: Under the banner of Save Speechless and National Service Scheme (NSS), Abha Gaikwad Patil College of Engineering and Priyadarshani students on Saturday held demonstration at the Samvidhan chowk to demand ban on nylon manja and to draw the attention of people to save birds.

It may be mentioned that many people and birds have been injured and lost their lives because of nylon manja. Many students and teachers were present during this. The students were carrying banners, models of birds and nests and demonstrating to attract attention of people.

Nagpur: The Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering & Technology has recently organized a Two week ISTE Approved STTP on “Big Data Analytics and Internet of Things”, In association with TCS, Mihan, Nagpur by Department of Computer Science & Engineering. Chief guest on the Inaugural function of STTP Arvind Kumar, Center Head TCS, Nagpur, enlighten on importance of Industry approach and real time implementations in Big Data Analytic Tools and Internet of Things(IoT).

Dr. Vivek Nanoti, Principal, PIET always support such types of Short Term Training Program which encourages the faculties to learn something more out of the box. Dr. G. M. Asutkar,Vice-Principal,PIET, has talked on wireless IoT devices with 5G Technology. Convener of the STTP Dr. P. S.Prasad gave an introductory speech informing about the expert lectures to be conducted in this two week program. Raisoni Engineering College organises Industrial visit at ABC Pvt Ltd
Nagpur: First Year Engineering Department of G.H. Raisoni Academy of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur organized industrial visit for the students of B.E. Second Semester at ABC, Pvt., Ltd, Hingna MIDC, Nagpur, on 12/01/2018. As a part of co-curricular activities, the students visited in view to get and insight into the internal working environment & functioning of industry.

The objective of the visit was to develop technical knowledge, work process, team work & mostly about working culture of industry. Dr. Sudhir Bhuyar, Head of R & D and Quality Control section briefed the students about the history of company, its products manufacturing process & application of plastic granules as a raw material for the synthesis of plastic products.

The visit was organized & coordinated by Dr. Himani Pandhurnekar and Er. Kiran H.Raut under the guidance of Dr. Vivek Kapur, Principal; Dr. Sanjay Haridas, Vice Principal & Prof. Akhilesh Ugale, HOD, First Year Engineering Department.

Nagpur: Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering & Technology run by Lokmanya Tilak Jankalyan Shikshan Sanstha (LTJSS) has recently received a grant of Rs 18 Lakh for conducting Jean Monnet course Module at PIET campus. The grant is funded by European Commission for Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. The module entitled ‘Impact of fake news on recent European Union Politics’ would be conducted free of cost at PIET campus for graduates from any stream from April 1, 2018. The course comprises of 100 hrs and would be conducted on weekends for 2hrs per day. The teaching would be imparted by eminent scholars, academics and journalists. The objective of the course is to make the people aware of social, psychological and political impact of spreading and trusting fake news. A conference will also be organised on the same theme on 12th and 13th March, 2018 in PIET campus.

Principal of the institute Dr. Vivek Nanoti is the academic coordinator of the module. Dr. Bhumika Agrawal is the project coordinator who had prepared exhaustive report of the project module. Dr. Sadanand Deshpande is the legal entity appointed representative for Jean Monnet course module. Dr. G. M. Aasutkar and Dr. R.L. Himte took the follow up of the project. Dr Vivek Nanoti and his team has urged the graduates to enrich their profiles by registering themselves for this course. Chairman of LTJSS Dr. Satish Chaturdevi, Secretary Abha Chaturdevi and Director, Governing body Dushyant Chaturdevi and Director Mr. Abhijeet Deshmukh congratulated PIET for this grant and wished them for the successful conduction of the course.

Nagpur: Ashutosh Rawale and Pranav Kamble organised orientation programme on the topic “Robotics” on 12 January for First Year Engineering Department of G H Raisoni Academy of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur. The programme was organised under the guidance of M Sheikh under the Robo-Adhyean (College Robotics Club).

The focus of the programme was to make students aware about industrial and reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools or specialized devices through variable programme motions for the performance of various of task.

The programme was organised and coordinated by Kiran H Raut under the guidance of Dr Vivek Kapur, Principal Dr Sanjay Haridas, Vice-Principal, Dr Achal Shahare, HOD, Mechanical and Prof Akhilesh Ugale, HOD, First Year Engineering Department.
