Nagpur.

Man has always used the walls for depicting his quests or art. The cave paintings found on cave walls and ceilings, of prehistoric origin. Cave paintings may have been a way of communicating with others or ascribe a religious or ceremonial purpose to them. There was a time when the only things you would find on College walls in the city were betel stains and torn posters. But things are definitely changing for the better.

G H Raisoni College of Engineering is celebrating their Annual Gathering fondly called ‘Antragni’. ‘Antragni’ a Hindi word means “The fire within”. G H Raisoni College of Engineering led by a dynamic and passionate teacher Preeti Bajaj has provided a way to channelize the fire within the Engineering students.

The Antragni Festival kick started with a creative concept of Wall Painting. Students from all colleges were invited to participate in the festival.

Student from Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya
The themes were

  1. Indian Culture
  2. Carnival
  3. Free Hand
  4. Warli Painting
  5. Youth Empowerment

The colleges which participated in the Wall Painting Competition are:

  1. Vishweshvariya National Institute of Technology.
  2. G H Raisoni College of Engineering.
  3. Chitrakala Mahavidhyala.

The Judge of Wall Painting Competition is a reputed Architect Nidhi Gandhi.

IMG_20150215_153255
The paintings were mostly Incredible India, Indian Culture or free hand painting. The students of the participating colleges were given a wall and allowed to paint it their own material. No one would believe the hidden talent of an artist hidden in these engineering students.

Apart from this Wall Painting Competition, Kabbadi Matches too were on. In the very first match with Inderjeet Singh Randhava as referee, the first year students over-powered the Students of Civil Engineering. Probably the enthusiasm and the team spirit was what kept them going.
