DPS Kamptee conducts quiz for nursery toddlers

An Intra section Quiz Competition was organised for the students of Nursery of Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road. The quiz was as vibrant as the names of the four teams – Energetic Earth, Jumbo Jupiter, Splendid Earth and Vivid Venus.

There were five rounds – Warm up, Solve the Riddle, Audio/Visual, Buzzer and Rapid Fire round; Buzzer round being the most of them all. The entire quiz was based on current syllabus of class Nursery. The competitors gave a tough fight.The parents appreciated the efforts taken by the teacher in-charge Kakoli Chatterjee.

Winners were congratulated by management of Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Principal, Headmistress, staff and fellow students.

As a result our student Master Parth Wazurkar from department of Compute Science and Engineering – Second year has been selected as adeveloper intern in Google Summer of Code 2018. He will be working for the Free Type Project on the project “Integrating VFlib’s TeX format drivers into Free Type” from 23rd April to 14thAugust 2018.

He will be earning a stipend of USD 2400 from Google. Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that matches students with open source, free software andtechnology-related organizations to write code and get paid.

The organizations provide mentors who act as guides through the entire process, from learning about the community to contributing code. The idea is to get students involved in and familiar with the open source community and help those to put their summer break to good use. IIIT Nagpur encouraged Master Parth for setting up a milestone for IIIT Nagpur students.

Nagpur: The students of Electronics Engineering branch bring laurels to the Priyadarshini College of Engineering by securing university ranks in RTMNU Winter 2017 Examination. Apoorva Thakre of seventh semester secured first university rank.

Sunil Asha and Sadavalli Kavare secured seventh rank and Krutika Latwe secured 9th rank in fifth semester Examination. Shashikant Sarode of third semester is the second university topper.

A workshop on Electron Microscopy was organised recently by Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminum Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC) in association with MME,VNIT, Nagpur and Electron Microscope Society of India supported by Board of Research in Nuclear Science. From Centre Point School (CPS), Katol Road Amruth Menday, Agnidev Bhattacharya, Kaiz Dhamani, Pali Pranjal, Sonali Kalekar andVanshika Agrawal of Class 12 Science Stream, attended the workshop along with Manimegalai Sivanand, the Physics teacher.

The workshop was conducted by two eminent scientists, Dr T R Ramachandran (Founder Director JNARDDC, Nagpur, Retd. Professor IIT Kanpur) and Dr P Parameswaran, (Head XR DSES, Physical Metallurgy Division, IGCAR. Dr Ramachandran introduced scanning Electron Microscopy and Dr Parameswaran explained the application of SEM and TEM. He elaborated on the ‘specimen preparation methods’ and led the delegates on a lab visit to observe the working of the electron microscope. A quiz on Electron Microscopy was also conducted by Dr Parameswaran.

All the six students of CPS, Katol Road, qualified for the final round after the preliminary written test. After the tough but interesting 6 rounds, Vanshika Agrawal and Sonali Kalekar won the 1st position. They got a cash prize of Rs 2,250 and Agnidev Bhattacharya, Kaiz Dhamani stood 3rd and won a cash prize of Rs 750. All the participants received certificates. Nagpur: Priyadarshini J. L. College of Engineering (PJLCE), Nandanvan, recently inaugurated the career guidance and counselling cell aimed at resolving day to day admission problems of students. The cell was inaugurated at the hands of Principal Dr. A.M. Shende.

The sole motive behind establishing this cell is to guide the novice 12th standard students to choose the right career path for their higher studies and to solve their problems so as to provide confidence to improve their quality of life.

The Commerce Teachers’ Foundation recently conducted International Commerce Olympiad 2017, in which Commerce students of Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar participated and a few of them clinched meritorious ranking at the All India level.

In Std XI, Kartik Varadpande scored 98.3% percentile while Sakshi Nandurkar and Sonam Gadge scored 98.1% and 97.7% respectively. Pranav Golechha of Std XII secured 99.6% percentile with an All India ranking – 11.

He is followed by Keshav Modi with 98.9% and Nikit Bhalotiya with 98.5%. The toppers have been awarded trophy, and medals. The Management, Principal P Nirupama Shankar and staff congratulated the achievers.

Nagpur: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of G.H.Raisoni Academy of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur had organized a guest lecture on Internet of Things (IoT) for all the students of CSE.

The expert was Harish Zambani from web and mobile technologies, Nagpur. He gaveuseful information & opportunities in IoT.

He explained the history, architecture & applications of IoT. He stressed on the importance of this domain & told that IoT is 70% computer science & 30% hardware. Students were immensely benefited by the knowledge and experience shared by the expert.

The session was coordinated by Prof. Vikrant Chole under the guidance of Principal, Dr. VivekKapur, & Prof. Amit Pimpalkar, HOD CSE.

In the Commerce Stream, Komal Manoj Yadav scored 89.38 percent marks while Aditi Kalaskar was second with 89.23 percent marks. Similarly, Vaibhavi Salodkar – 88.92%, Dev Deshmukh – 87.23%, Manthan Sharma – 86.30%, Radhika Jhavar – 82.30% and Vinayak Jain – 81.69% brought laurels to their college.

Nagpur: Tirpude Institute of Applied and Retrospective Arts (TiARA) is in its Sixth year of operation and aims to make a mark by establishing a vocational arts institute of excellence. The Mass Communication programme offers opportunities for internships and also placements in organizations like IBM Lokmat, Lokmat Times, Times of India, Dainik Bhaskar, BCN, UCN, GTPL 24 Hours, Awaaz India, Mi Marathi, ETV, Nagpur Today, Nagpur Info, MYFM 94.3 and many more.. The institute also assists in placement opportunities out of Nagpur. The institute engages faculty members who have industry experience. Guest lectures by eminent personalities are also arranged as a part of the academic programme.

TiARA offers one year Diploma courses in programmes like Mass Communication & Journalism and Theater & Performing Arts. TiARA is established under the flagship of Yugantar Education Society (YES) and is recognized by KaviKulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU).

The hands-on experiences offered at TiARA entails the students an experience of graduation.

In the recently concluded session, the Mass Communication & Theatre students got an opportunity to perform at INDRADHANUSHYA- an inter university youth festival. The host University was Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. TiARA students participated in various categories of competitions like One Act Play, Skit, Debate, Western Vocal, Solo and Debate. The TiARA students who represented KKSU were Jasmine Kaur, Oshee Jain, Anshul Nimje, Heena Iyer, Paras Balpande, Sagarika Patil & Zillah Ganesha. There were more than 20 Universities from Maharashtra state who were part of the competition. Judges and students of different Universities appreciated the performances of TiARA students.

TiARA students also came up with their own Newsletter, TiARA Communiqué, during CRESCENDO, which is Central India’s biggest youth festival, organized by Tirpude Institute of Management Education. TiARA Communiqué is published in tabloid form by the students themselves. They also are involved in organizing the massive inter-collegiate mega youth festival ‘Crescendo’ in a corporate hierarchy style.

The students themselves manage TIME’s Facebook page – ‘TiARA Newsroom’, press conferences, press meets, promotional videos, other promotion activities and coordination with press. The Mass Communication program was initially started with a batch of 20 students and it now has more than 50 students every year.

TiARA’s Theatre and Performing Arts students are trained on floor exercises, stage presence, costume designing, lighting, stage set up, etc. and also on the nuances of facial expressions, body language and voice modulation. Students practice on a lot of scripts and are encouraged to participate in different competitions. Renowned award winning Directors with exhaustive industry experience are associated with the institute. The students get opportunity to work for commercial plays, they have participated in auditions of movies and TV serials; this has resulted in some production houses approaching the institute for their requirement of artists. It can be proudly mentioned that few students are, at present, working in a movie as supporting actors and one student is working as Assistant Director. This has generated offers to students from other production houses as well.

TiARA also organizes Short Film Making workshop for students, wherein they learn all the technicalities of Production. TiARA students have prepared their own short film after the workshop, which will be sent to different competitions.

Nagpur: A free certified course on ‘Impact of Fake News on recent European Politics’ co-funded by Jean Monnet Erasmus programme has been started at Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology from June 1. Principal of the institute Dr. Vivek Nanoti in his introductory speech addressed the gathering about the European countries the way they are dealing with fake news. He appealed the participants to take maximum benefits of the course module and enrich their profiles. Coordinator of the programme Dr. Bhumika Agrawal briefed the gathering about the course, its relevance in today’s context and how the course can benefit the participants.

Around 60 participants from the field of Engineering, journalism, law, management, arts, commerce and even school students registered for the course. When asked some of participants about their intent of attending the course, they mentioned that they want to get indepth knowledge about fake news and its various aspects. They also stressed that it is important to curb and boycott fake news for stronger democracy.

In the changing world scenario with regards to industry and the job market, there is now an overpowering need of IoT. It opens an ocean of opportunities for technology providers, vendors, engineers. Today billions of devices are connected to the Internet in what we call the “Internet of Things” or “IoT”. These devices are already transforming our lives, but as they do, there are also serious challenges that must be addressed to maximize the potential benefits.

When Internet reaches the poor and remote places, it should reach them to provide them banking, healthcare and education services. Safety and security of children is another area of Internet of things.

Harish Zambani and Rajesh Relkar, Expert from Smart Digital WebNMobile Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur has enlightened various techniques and concept of IoT, How and Why IoT and IoT Tools & IDEs, Pros and Cons. They also demonstrated ARDUINO basic with board description & installation. They give the ideas about ARDUINO hands-on program structure with functions, strings, arrays. They also give brief on ESP8266 & Carriots IoT Platform for creating an account.

42 participant were benefitted from the program. They learn how to create an account on Carriots IoT platform with devices, streams & listener in IOT projects. Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the State SSC Class 10 Result 2018 on Friday, June 8 at 1 pm.Somalwar High School Ramdaspeth students shine in the SSC result from the city.

Ketki Rajurkar along with Pranali Titre hit the top spot with 98.6% followed by Shankari Khokaley with 98.40% from Somalwar High School Khamla along with Arya Mujumdar from R.S. Mundle school secured second place in SSC 2018 results.

From Somalwar High School Ramdaspeth 110 students secured above 90% whereas 11 students scored above 98% in SSC 2018 result. This year the pass percentage of Maharashtra is 89.41% and Nagpur being the lowest in the state with pass percentage of 85.95.

Sree Narayana Vidhyalaya English Medium Primary High School, Kanhan organised a Creative Summer Camp for parents and children upto 15-year-old recently. Various events like marshal art karate, computer hardware, music class, dance class, basic robotics, maths tricks, aerobics, fun with science, craft and art, mehandi and rangoli under the guidance of trained coaches. The organisation had arranged free breakfast for all participants.

The main aim of the camp is to develop the extracurricular activities, physical fitness and mind development. The International Conference was inaugurated from the hands of Chief Guest Dr. Sivaji Chakraborti chairman of IEEE, Indian Council and Director of NIT, Calicut along with Dr. Kalyan Sen, CEO of Sen Transformer, USA, and Guest of Honour Dr. Ashok Tripathy.

The conference is organised by the department of Electrical engineering under Power and Energy society of IEEE which provides the largest forum for sharing the latest in technological developments in the electric power industry, for developing standards that guide the development and construction of equipment and systems.
The topic of the conference will be relevant with current scenario which aims to bring re-searchers, academicians and Industry persons together and discuss about the problems and give solutions.

Three plenary sessions were organised on day one with the topics for Session 1 was e-mobility, session 2 was on Renewable energy sources and the plenary session by Dr. Sivaji Chakravorti on the topic Non-Invasive Electrical Methods for condition Monitoring of Transformers where he guided the researchers on Transformers. He urged the students to bring discipline in life as it will be beneficial in their daily life he also urged to follow academic ethics and be careful while writing and presenting research papers.

The second session was addressed by Dr. Kalyan Sen on Smart Power flow Controller. The third session presented by Dr. Ashok Tripathy was in the context of emerging scenario in energy and Power related to Indian Power Sector.

A Total of 135 authors have submitted their research work for the International Conference in which 83 papers are selected for oral presentation.

Mount Carmel Girls’ High School, Ajni, once again recorded100% result in the SSC Board examinations of March. It made the headmistress Sr Maria Satya A C feel proud about the students.

Credit also goes to the teachers who kept encouraging the students to keep on pursuing and working hard at their studies.

Parents’ role in helping their wards also deserve applauds.
